The Amazon Basin, spread across several South American countries, is facing challenges related to the carbon market with regard to its legitimacy, deforestation, and community involvement. This webinar looks at its impact on local economies, Indigenous people, and the forest itself. The discussion will highlight carbon markets operation, the regulation, and implementation. Further, panelists will discuss whether carbon markets are useful from an ecological lens and who benefits from these schemes.
