Can Pakistan Survive Climate Change?

Country:

Author:

Pakistan is eighth on the list of countries most affected by extreme weather events from 2000 to 2019. In 2022, extensive flooding submerged around a third of the country, affected 33 million people, killed more than 1,700, caused $14.8 billion in damage as well as $15.2 billion in economic losses.

This reporting project will discuss the climate change overview, the young activists creating awareness in Pakistan, whether the Pakistani media plays a greater role in creating awareness, what the government is saying versus what the activists are reporting, and whether adding climate change to the national curriculum really makes a difference.

Also, data stories will look at the impact of climate change over the years.
