TRAMA is an international programme for the exchange of artistic thought based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The programme organizes debates, workshops, lectures and artists’ public presentations to confront and exchange structures of thinking, questions and tendencies engaged in the constitution of artistic thought.

The activities we propose are meant to strengthen the reference links amongst the local artists’ community, to make visible the mechanisms that articulate the production and sense of art in a peripheral context, and to legitimize artistic thought in social and political spheres.

The programme is independent, flexible and mobile, and is conceived by a group of artists coming from a wide range of backgrounds (aesthetical, intellectual and ages) who wish to build up horizontal and equal links for the development of the art community to which they belong.

During the five years the programme is meant to last, we intend to make visible, fluid and accessible the natural net of interrelationships amongst artists and intellectuals in the Argentine cultural scene, relating it to the regional and international cultural scene and, at the same time, promoting the formation of different international exchange channels, which flow in south-south, south-north and north-south axes, facilitating the confrontation and co-operation amongst artists.

The material resulting from the events organised by Trama is edited in www.proyectotrama.com.ar and in yearly publications.
