Hut houses
The work concentrates in the crossing of the smallest
possible room and the landscape. The hut is the self-construction of that
crossing, in which local culture as a tool and the landscape as material
take part. Within this interchange, the natural character predo-minates,
and in this point lies my interest.
The first step was finding and listening to the ways
in which the people from each region constructed their houses. The present
moment is to work with that knowledge; the reflex action would be to try
to classify it, a trend fo-llowed in general by studies of a scientificist
character, but this procedure reduces possibi-lities of interpretation.
My choice is to pair them, following a dialectical logic, so that the
pair, plus the observer's ac-tion, placed "between" two examples,
works as an explanation. Now it is the moment to link the pairs (sometimes
by threes) to reconstruct the familiar landscape.
